Case Study: Healthy Ireland

Healthy Ireland, a government initiative targeting walking and outdoor activity groups. 

The Brief:

Healthy Ireland is a government-led initiative which aims to create and Irish society where everyone can enjoy good physical and mental health, and where wellbeing is valued and supported throughout society. Healthy Ireland aims to create an Ireland where health and wellbeing is on everyone's agenda in a meaningful way.

Galway County Council required some branded merchandise to support their marketing campaign for this initiative.  

The Challenge:

The four main goals of the Healthy Ireland initiative are

  • Increase the proportion of people who are healthy at all stages of life
  • Reduce health inequalities
  • Protect the public from threats to health and wellbeing
  • Create an environment where every individual and sector of society can play their part in achieving a healthy Ireland

Galway County Council wanted to focus on the Keeping Active aspect within these main goals. The keeping active element of the guidance included keeping active and being outdoors, even during the winter, it's an important way of helping physical and mental health and wellbeing.

So we needed to present a range of products that would help the council achieve this goal through a marketing activity aimed at users of local walking and outdoor activity groups.  

The Solution:

Using our merchandise expertise and working closely with the council's own strategic plans, we presented a range of useful giveaways that the outdoor and walking groups could us during activities or as giveaways to participants. This ensured that the Healthy Ireland brand was kept in people's minds using merchandise that supported the overall marketing campaign and objectives of the initiative.

The Results:

Following with the 'Keeping Active' ethos, the client settled on a branded bottle, stress ball and pedometer. Each product had a great branding area to promote the Healthy Ireland brand and served as a useful item for recipients and group activity users. The stress ball promoted good mental health and was branded in the Healthy Ireland colours, with the bottle and pedometers perfect for the walking groups to count steps and keep hydrated. The Healthy Ireland team and Galway County Council were delighted with the products, how they were received by the user groups and how we kept it to their brief.
