2020: A year in review

Wow, 2020 - where to start? This year has undoubtedly been one of the strangest that most of us have ever lived through. Every year typically has a few defining moments but 2020 really has kept us all on our toes with world-changing developments.

Sadly, the Covid-19 global pandemic is still with us, but there is hope on the horizon. Although here in the UK we’ve just emerged from our second national lockdown, cases are reducing and we look forward to 2021 with hope and optimism...

Here at Fluid, we’ve not been resting on our laurels this year by any means. 

Our teams have had to react rapidly to ever changing business landscapes, working from home restrictions, changes in client requirements and trends in merchandise.

One of the best things that has happened to Fluid is the strengthening of the bonds between our teams and offices. It has been incredible to see everyone collaborating to solve problems, finding solutions, working hard and really supporting each other. When faced with a huge crisis like we have all seen this year, our entire Fluid family embraced the challenge and pushed each other to overcome what seemed at the time to be an almost impossible task; only to come out the other side in an even stronger position.

On that positive note, we reflect on all of our big news happenings for Fluid in 2020 and we look forward to helping and inspiring you all again in 2021!

2020: A Year in Review

January: Fluid on the Move

We’ve moved to larger offices in Cornwall, London, and Plymouth to support our continued growth. The London team moved into brand new offices in November, still in Camden but now at Hawley Wharf with canal side views. A perfect place for creative thinking and client meetings. The Plymouth team also relocated in October 2019 to Faraday Mill Business Park, this central location is the perfect space for a growing team.

February: Feefo Platinum Award

We’re delighted to be awarded the highest level of service award by Feefo for the fifth year in a row! After winning the Gold Trusted award for 4 years in a row, we’ve been awarded the Platinum Trusted award. An independent seal of approval that recognises businesses delivering exceptional experiences that are rated by real customers. Reviews collected by Feefo are verified as being from genuine customers, so the award is a true reflection of Fluid’s commitment to outstanding service.

April: Salute the NHS

In the current global crisis, Key Workers have stepped up like they’ve never had to before. The dedication and bravery of NHS workers across the United Kingdom is nothing short of amazing, and we owe each and every one of them a debt of gratitude. That’s why we’ve taken steps to help where we can…

April: New B Corp Score

Just over a year ago, Fluid became a Certified B Corporation. We’re incredibly proud to be the first within our industry to fly the B Corp flag - we’ve become a part of an incredible group of worldwide brands who use the power of business as a force for good…but we haven’t stopped there. Since then, we’ve worked to make things even better. So much so that in our last review, our score has actually improved by 10%!

August: Fluid Branding & Everything Corporate join forces

Some exciting news for the branded merchandise industry - as of 1st August 2020, Fluid Branding has acquired Everything Corporate, combining forces to further grow the business and client base.

September: Jon Birrell joins the Fluid Family

The family is growing! We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Birrell as our new Operations Director! He’s heading up our Procurement, People Operations and Production departments.

September: Nat joins Malta

Fluid Branding are delighted to announce the appointment of Nat Brewer, a Maltese national as their Senior Account Manager heading up their Malta office.  Fluid opened their Malta office in 2018 in response to a growing client base and increasing demand from the Maltese and iGaming markets.

September: Fluid Friends Awards

The Fluid team hosted their first-ever virtual event on the evening of Tuesday 15th September. The whole Fluid team had voted on several categories to thank our amazing suppliers and celebrate their exceptional support.

October: Amsterdam office ReBjörn

Fluid Branding are delighted to announce the appointment of Björn Karregat as Sales Manager in their Amsterdam office.  Fluid’s office in Amsterdam opened in 2017 in response to a growing client base in Europe, many multi-nationals choose the Netherlands as their EMEA base of operations.

October: Fluid Family Virtual Conference

The Fluid team all gathered in their own homes on the evening of Friday 2nd October to come together online for a virtual celebration, the team sent out a goodie box to all of their attendees ahead of the event so that they could enjoy some nibbles and cocktails as the evening progressed. The whole team got to vote on several different categories to celebrate individuals and exceptional achievements over a very unusual 12 month period.
