Our B Impact Report

To become a fully qualified B Corporation, a company must score at least 80 out of a possible 200 points in an online assessment - their B Impact Assessment. Consisting of 150 questions, the assessment is designed to test a company's approach to B Corp's five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community (physical or virtual), the Environment, and their Customers. So how did we fare in our assessment?

Our Impact Report is by no means perfect - but sharing it and being totally transparent is part of the B Corp community's (and our) DNA, and we're always looking for ways to improve our environmental and social performance. Our certification is a continual work in progress, and each and every member of our team is continually striving to find better ways of doing things for our people, our communities, and our planet.

Our three internal steering groups - Fluid Family, Fluid Friends, and Fluid Futures - help to keep us on track with our efforts and commitment to our B Corp Certification. It's also further articulated by our Brand Promise:

The Fluid Brand Promise

We're certainly not perfect, but we are open to change and will always go the extra mile to make our customers happy.

We want to be judged by the great things we do - not just what we say.

We'll always strive to deliver products with maximum brand impact, but also minimal impact on the environment.

We'll endeavor to give back to the community and projects that benefit others, not just ourselves.

We promise to be responsible, which means that our drive to help inform better product choices goes beyond the pursuit of profit.

We are continually looking for ways to do things better, which means we listen to ideas, start conversations and embrace small changes that can make our industry a better place.

Our B Corp Journey so far...

Since joining the community and becoming a certified B Corporation ourselves, we've been looking at ways that we can do better. That's why our score has jumped up a few points since our last assessment - we're constantly looking for ways to improve.

Here's a few things that we've implemented since we gained our certification:

  • We've introduced two full days pay a year to any employees wanting to spend time doing charity work.
  • We've introduced our match funding scheme for employees' community or charitable activities.
  • We've seen a 500% increase in charitable giving.
  • We've introduced our Employee's Assistance Programme (a confidential counselling service concentrating on the wellbeing of our team and their families).
  • We've upskilled team members to support mental health wellbeing.
  • We've introduced a local employment foundation that includes an NHS disability commitment statement.
  • We've introduced policies that cover Business Ethics & Integrity, Environmental Preferred Suppliers, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • We've created a breastfeeding support policy for returning-to-work mums.

These are our first steps on our B Corp journey, and as we say, we're always looking for ways to do things better. Along with our entire B Corp community, we want to #BtheChange, so great things will definitely follow - watch this space!
